For Land's Sake - Montana Land Values Presentation

COVID Update - There has been many concerns expressed about COVID, and questions about whether this event will be available to attend online.  Unfortunately, it is too late for continuing education credits (CE) to be approved by the state for online participation.  This presentation will be video recorded, and published on www.MTLandSource.com at a later date.

For over 20 years, Clark Wheeler from Norman C Wheeler & Associates has put on an annual presentation of rural land values and trends.  The event has always taken place at the first meeting of the year in January of the Southwest Montana Farm & Ranch Brokers in Bozeman, MT.  After over 40 years, the Southwest Montana Farm & Ranch Brokers was discontinued in 2021, but the Billings Farm & Ranch Brokers has expanded to become the Montana Farm & Ranch Brokers, and now sponsors this event.

The event is free and open to all participants.

Starting in 2018 this event was expanded to include other local appraisers and valuation experts, including Andrew Rahn from Montana Land Source and land appraisers from Northwest Farm Credit Services.  The event the best opportunity of the year to learn in depth about rural Montana land values and trends data, and is always highly attended by land brokers and other rural real estate industry professionals.

This year's presenters are top industry experts with exclusive data and analysis on the Montana land market:

  • N. Clark Wheeler - Owner - Norman C. Wheeler & Associates
  • Mike McDonnell, ARA - Appraiser - Norman C. Wheeler & Associates
  • Andy Rahn, ARA - Appraiser - Montana Land Source
  • Thomas Kingsbury - Owner - Part & Parcel GIS Services
  • Wade McAlpine - Appraiser - Northwest Farm Credit Services
  • Christine Murphy - Appraiser - Northwest Farm Credit Service

This year the land values presentation will be held in conjunction with educational seminars put on by the MT Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) at the 2nd Annual Winter Real Estate Roundup.  Two hours of continuing education credits are available for Montana appraisers, and credits are being worked on with the State for credit hours for Montana real estate brokers and salespersons.

The presentation will be held at the Best Western - GranTree Inn, 1325 N 7th Avenue, Bozeman, MT.  There is no cost to attend. A lunch sponsored by Northwest Farm Credit Services will follow the presentation from noon to 1:00.
