This summer, reporter Chris Clayton from DTN/The Progressive Farmer magazine out of Omaha, Nebraska came to Montana to write an article about the large ranch market in Montana. USDA Releases 2023 Summary of Land Values

The U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service has released it's 2023 Summary of Land Values. The data is based on USDA surveys of land owners and managers, and not actual land transaction data. Also, the survey focuses on agricultural production lands, and does not include recreational lands which are a significant portion of the Montana land market. ...

The Finger Buttes Ranch was successfully sold at auction, on May 1st, 2023. Attendance at the the action was good, the room at the Moose Lodge in Belle Fourche, SD was mostly full. Mark McNamee from Clark & Associates Land Brokers was the auctioneer.
