South Crazy Mountains Land Exchange Approved

South Crazy Mountains Land Exchange Approved

The Forest Service has approved two public/private land trades in the southern Crazy Mountains.  The land swap totals 1,900 acres and is valued at over $1,700,000.  The land trade is only a small portion of what has been proposed, with the remaining land swap proposals being pushed back for further review.

The trades involve sections owned by the Wild Eagle Mountain Ranch, the Rock Creek Ranch and the Forest Service. Conservation easements will be placed on the Forest Service parcels that the private ranches acquire, prohibiting development.
