Once monthly, usually the second Wednesday of each month, the Southwest Montana Farm & Ranch Brokers meet at noon in Bozeman at the Holiday Inn. At the meetings, brokers and other rural real estate professionals get together to network, hear a presentation on topics relative to the rural Montana land market, and to share new listings as well as to discuss properties they are looking for on behalf of buyers.
This Month's Presenter: Shaelyn Bauer is the owner of H Open A Ranch Consulting and a MaiaGrazing Sales and Service Provider. Shaelyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems – Livestock Production Emphasis from Montana State and is near completing her master’s degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science. She is originally from Ekalaka, where her family ranches and raises angus-composite genetics for the grass fed, low input producer. Shaelyn remains heavily involved in the family ranch. She, her husband Josh, and baby boy, Diehl, live on their 30 acres near Clyde Park.
An overview of how managed grazing, monitoring and recordkeeping can improve ecological and economic outcomes for ranches. Technology can also assist in the grazing decision making process.
