Twice a year, the Billings Farm & Ranch Brokers and the Bozeman Farm & Ranch Brokers get together for a joint meeting in Big Timber, Montana. The next upcoming meeting is scheduled for April 17th at noon at the American Legion in Big Timber, 110 Third Avenue.
The presenter, Joel Silverman, Tax Attorney at Silverman Law Office in Bozeman & Helena will discuss “1031 Basics Including New Rules & Opportunity Zones.”
Joel Silverman is a recovering fishing guide that has made many wrong decisions in life, including his turn to the dark side of life, by becoming a lawyer. In 2004, after graduating from law school and getting a Masters in tax law, Joel returned to Butte, Montana to begin practicing law. He spent 6 years working for the Montana Department of Revenue, litigating complex tax cases. In 2012, Joel opened an office that was focused on helping people with their businesses and estate planning, while providing a higher level of customer service. With offices in Helena and Bozeman, Joel and his team focus on working collaboratively with a client’s realtor, financial advisor, accountant and insurance agent to achieve the best outcome for the client. They represent clients from around the country and Canada.
The meeting will begin with a free lunch… including a Prime Rib sandwich, red potatoes, and a salad and dessert, all catered by Bill’s Place Diner & Catering of Melville. Brokers will network and share their 'haves' and 'wants.' Non-members are welcome to attend. As usual, Montana Land Source will be there displaying new land listings.
